Losing A Loved One to Opioids
The loss of a loved one is always an incredibly painful experience, and losing someone to opioids can feel especially overwhelming. Due to societal stigma associated with substance use disorder, navigating the grief process after a loss can be daunting. Our mission with Hear to Heal is to create a kindness-based, judgment-free space for those who want to learn how to process grief, connect with others who have a similar experience, and discuss topics regarding opioid use and loss.
Hear to Heal meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month, beginning at 1 PM. Each meeting is facilitated by a licensed behavioral health professional and focuses on opioid use and dealing with loss. Partnering with Monarchy Recovery Center, meetings are held at their location in Sacramento, where refreshments and snacks are also provided.
